Henning Holck Larsen's centenary year was celebrated today across L&T. There was a web cast of A M Naik's speech. It seems AMN as he is called in L&T, also celebrates his b'day today. Hmmm...a Gemini i suppose. Though he looked very stern, his speech impressed me. Quite a reasonable man! Earlier i had only read his quotes in the newspaper and seen his picture.
This occasion suddenly made me feel 'a proud L&Tite' and that too for the first time in these two months. Haaaaa.... but it was a momentary feeling, hardly lasted for few minutes. Cos, all said and done, this is a glorified government office. Yes, people sit on projects and approvals for months together. My God, what a vast difference between that fast paced IT industry and this manufacturing set up. Here, all that works is a few strands of grey hair on your head to get promoted. Yes... they call it expereince. This is definetly not the place to be if one were to become a CEO at the age of 30. The real challenge now is to navigate through all these rigid processes and people and position my flag. Quite a frustrating and irritating task though!
