Its 11.13am and I have just another seven hours left at Larsen & Toubro Valves Business unit. I have been looking forward to this day for the past three to four months and now that it is time to bid fare well, I find my throat hurting, my mind disturbed, my eyes watery and my voice stammering. I think am going to be missing this place................move on!
When I walked into 10, Club House road in Feb 2008 the first hand that greeted me, the first hand that gave me my offer letter and then when I joined the company the first hand that showed me my seat and the first hand that offered me coffee is the hand that I decided to hold for life! Yes, I met Kumz as a responsible HR professional at L&T taking my interview when I first stepped into the organisation. And from then on he became my very best friend at office. We had a great time working together and am really really going to miss this friend at work.
The second face to simile at me was Mahalakshmi! We roamed around the streets of mount road in rain and shine, made fun of all the guys around and laughed our lives out together. Ramakrishna, Senthur, GRT, Thakkudas, Spencers, Satyam, office canteen.....fun unlimted! There was no hide and seek between us and office was such a great place in each other’s company.
There are many interesting personalities here…I cannot forget Jose, Raghu, BN, AD, AKB, Mariappan, Shankar, Devarajan, Deepa, Padmaja, Priya, Bhama and Babu with whom I spent quality time.
Some people are to be remembered and respected all your life because they have a direct impact on you. I can never forget Mr.Rajanish, a moving encyclopaedia full of facts and interesting experiences. Rajanish shares from his rich experiences and it’s never been just gyan or textbook knowledge. I always felt completely re-charged and rejuvenated after a meeting with him. He blows hot and blows cold and that’s just about him! I will carry the spark that you lit in me all through my career!
Above all the rigid IT policy has been a little relaxed today. Hurray…I am able to access and update my blog from office. Yipeeeeee!!

Bye bye 2009!
2009 has been a very peaceful year for me – as a happy couple we celebrated our very first anniversary, the most wanted shift in my career has nearly fallen into my hands, I had an amazing international vacation, I’ve managed to understand my in-laws and overcome all expectations, my prayers have kept my parents in good health and cheer all through this year, my dearest brother has also managed to balance things in life which is a great relief to me, my little niece Harshitha is growing up and amazing me with her aptitude and behaviour every time we meet…I cant ask for more!
Kumz and me have dinned in the best of restaurants; we’ve eaten almost all kinds of food and shopped till we actually became tired. Movies, games, re-creation etc have all been so fine and so good! I found several new friends, met some interesting personalities, gained new experiences and also renewed several old relationships. Above all, the love of my life is very happy and thats exactly what I always wish for in life. The love and friendship we share is growing enormously with our understanding and affection getting better day-by-day! Today being the last day of the year I am overly excited about my accomplishments.
Since this morning for some reason, I’ve been thinking hard to recall one of the prayers I used to say in school before every period. Just feeling like saying it today because I feel so good….
‘Thank you God for the world so sweet,
Thank you God for the food we eat,
Thank you God for the birds that sing,
Thank you God for every thing’.
My prayer for 2010 (this is again a him that I used to sing in school). Its so meaningful and it speaks of the desire that God goes with you into the future to help you live out your vows.
'Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me bring your love;
Where there is injury your pardon, Lord;
And where there's doubt true faith in you.
Refrain:
Oh, Master grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love with all my soul.
Make me a channel of your peace.
Where there's despair in life let me bring hope;
Where there is darkness, only light;
And where there's sadness, ever joy.
Refrain
Make me a channel of your peace.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
In giving to all men that we receive;
And in dying that we're born to eternal life.
Refrain
Wish you a very very happy and peaceful 2010.
